NAVIGATOR README FILE
OVERVIEW:
There are 14 files included in this package.
1. License.txt - Contains copyright and license information to outline proper use of this software.
2. Readme.txt - Contains an overview of the software package, installation tips, and the history of the Stock Port script.
3. header.php - The code that should be displayed before Weather/Stock Port content.
4. footer.php - The code that should be displayed after Weather/Stock Port content.
5. banner.txt - This file saves the banners you would like to rotate on Navigator. Syntax:
link,file
Example:
http://www.wholehogsoftware.com,http://www.wholehogsoftware.com/banners/banner.gif
This would display the value of "banner.gif". When clicked, it would take the user to www.wholehogsoftware.com
6. bannerad.php - This is the file that rotates your banners.
7. config.inc - The variable settings for your system. Be sure to configure each of these as this file controls the entire layout and color scheme of Navigator.
8. error.php - The error page presented to the user if Navigator hits a problem.
9. index.php - A default page to show users when they first enter Navigator.
10. navigator.php - This file lays out the frames and controls "source" destinations for search queries and prints errors if no "source" or "URL" are assigned.
11. stock_port.php - A copy of Stock Port, a free stock quote content retrieval script.
12. todayslinks.php - A list of "Cool" links. We recommend you change these frequently.
13. top.php - This is the actual top frame of the system. This is where your config.inc values become important as the layout of your top frame is based on your configuration settings.
14. weather_port.php - A copy of Weather Port, a free weather status content retrieval script.
INSTALLATION:
1. Copy all files to a directory within your web hosting account.
2. Edit your header and footer files to match your web site.
3. Alter the values in config.inc to match your desired layout settings.
4. Link to Navigator from your web site like so:
http://www.yourdomain.com/navigator/navigator.php?url=index.php
5. Propogate the banners.txt file with your desired banners/locations. I have left one of my Whole Hog Software banners behind as an example, and have outlined the syntax above under file entry #5.

HISTORY:
2006-09-12: v1.2 released, code-base re-written entirely.
2002-02-24: v1.1 released. - rewrote some code base, updated weather port, and renamed include files.
